Design Tech Homes is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a 2017 ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Market Leader Award winner. This award recognizes the important contribution Design Tech Homes has made to energy-efficient construction and environmental protection by building more than 101 ENERGY STAR certified homes in 2016. Collectively, this accomplishment is equivalent to reducing C02 emissions by 171 metric tons, or:

    • Growing 4,343 tree seedlings for 10 years
    • Avoiding the consumption of 397 barrels of oil
    • Removing 36 passenger vehicles from the road

To earn the ENERGY STAR label, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that requires an integrated approach to design combined with tried-and-true best building practices. These homes undergo third-party verification of energy performance and are up to 30% more efficient than typical new homes built today.

“As a family-owned Custom Homebuilder, Design Tech Homes is committed to providing our homeowners with some of the most energy-efficient homes on the market today,” says Owner/CEO of Design Tech Homes, Mike Feigin. “We believe every homeowner should have the house of their dreams and enjoy peace of mind knowing it’s been built to meet strict energy efficiency guidelines.”

ENERGY STAR certified homes are built better from the ground up and include value-added energy efficiency features and a combination of materials and equipment that deliver better performance. Features like effective insulation systems, high-performance windows, tight construction, and ducts, properly-sized and installed efficient heating and cooling equipment, and energy-efficient lighting and appliances all add up to better comfort, better durability, and reduced utility and maintenance costs.
