The All-American-Made Design Tech Home

Thursday, 02 July 2015 00:00

This 4th of July, or anytime throughout the year, come out to tour our all-American-made showcase model home. The Centennial floorplan, designed by Javier Medina of Origin Architects and built by Design Tech Homes, is one of 12 showcase homes open daily for touring at MainStreet America located in Spring, Texas.

This two-story Craftsman-style home displays the honesty and simplicity of a truly all-American made home – from the nails, roofing, plumbing and insulation to the flooring, countertops and cabinetry. The Centennial’s style provides the harmonious blending of function and beauty, space planning and building materials that reflect ties to nature and a high level of craftsmanship.

“When we started the plans for the construction of the Centennial home, we were inspired to see if it could really be done…building a home that would be completely American-made,” says Mike Feigin, owner/CEO of Design Tech Homes and MainStreet America. “It wasn’t easy. There have only been a handful of homes built like this in the U.S. We’re proud to be one of the few home builders to even make the attempt.”

It's not just the products you can see, but it's all the materials behind the walls that were produced in the U.S. as well. Some of the products built into Design Tech Homes’ Centennial design include: Maze Nails; LP Building Products for sub-flooring, trim and siding, radiant barrier sheathing; Boral Roofing; Simonton Windows; Kent Moore shaker-style cabinetry; Cambria quartz countertops; Uponor plumbing; Owens Corning insulation; Wayne Dalton garage doors; Belgard stone pavers; U.S.-grown lumber products; among others.

“Maybe by building a true American-made home, we can convey the importance of buying local, manufacturing local, and helping our economy grow,” says Feigin. “We think the Centennial really captures the spirit of the American Dream.”

The family-owned Design Tech Homes, was founded in 1997 and offers turn-key custom home building services – everything from preparing the home site to architectural design, decorator selections, construction, financing, and something even more unique - furnishing and decorating services.

The Centennial is showcased alongside 11 other architecturally diverse home designs inside MainStreet America’s year-round, parade of showcase homes.
